It was December 2013 when I had last made a post to this blog. It truly has been forever. I keep telling myself - make one post every week or every month! Do something! But as is with life you make plans and life throws mallarchy at you. Sorry yes a bit of the 2020 Presidential debates at you too! Well anycase - I wanted to say hello from the other side and reinfuse this space with some new words. The topic of our conversation today is - How is that we have less and less and less time today to do things than we ever did before?! - Yes in contrast to the theme it is a wordy topic and yes it's not about science/cell and molecular biology.
I was just listening to Joe Rogan and his "Inside the Hive podcast" and there was an advert from Joe that really caught my attention. It was about this app called "Blinkist". Maybe you have heard of it; maybe you haven't. So what this app does is condense an article or book (preferably books/novels) of your choice and give you a gist of what it is about in a 15 minute read. At first I thought that's so sad that this is where we are today as professionals that we don't have enough time to read a book! But then I looked around and thought to myself with so much to do, accomplish and deadlines to meet it is so obvious such a service would be a viable option for so many. Although it is still a bit sad that it has been so long since I have read a book/novel from start to finish ever since I got busier and busier in academia, I think this could be a great way to get back into more reading!
